Product Description The debut album from the British singing sensation who stunned the judges, audience and TV world, coming out of nowhere to audition for Britains Got Talent with a powerfully moving rendition of I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables. Like Paul Potts the year before in BGT, Boyles humble appearance belied her amazingly rich, beautiful voice that won the hearts of listeners worldwide. This first album is the talk of the music world after Susans recent performance on national TV in America of an incredible rendition of Wild Horses. Includes I Dreamed a Dream, Wild Horses, Amazing Grace and many more jewels. Artist: Susan Boyle Format: Music CD Publisher/Mfg: Ignatius Press Mfg Code: IDD-D Track List: 1. Wild Horses 2. A very good album September 8, 2010 Kurt A. Johnson (North-Central Illinois, USA) I remember when the buzz started about a woman who walked out on the stage of a British talent show, got laughed at for her looks, and then proceeded to wow the audience with her talent. Like millions of others, I went to YouTube, and watched the video, and was wowed as well!
This album of Susan Boyle songs is really very good - the lady does indeed have talent! I enjoyed all of the tracks, and especially loved Wild Horses, Amazing Grace, and her trademark song - I Dreamed A Dream. Yeah, it's a very good album, and I do not hesitate to recommend it!
Why do those "little robots" like Susan Boyle's CD? September 7, 2010 English Bulldog 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Many "trained singers" regard singing as a mechanical act of maintaining beat, pitch, and breath control. Their voice coaches fill their heads with terms like head voice, chest voice, timbre, vocal resonation, etc., etc. They busily practice singing legato, staccato, thrill, melismas, and so on, and so forth. All those are important to a singer, but unless they go beyond the technical and recognize that singing is an act of communication between the singer and the audience, and that their task is to draw the audience inward, to feel what they feel, they will very likely remain unnoticed. They will always wonder why a Scottish singer, who misses a beat here and there, whose pitch is slightly off here and there, and whose vibrato is somewhat off-balance here and there, got so much attention from those "little robots". The answer is, in the world of "little robots", there is this totally indefinable thing called artistry. If beauty is in the eye of the holder, then artistry is between the ears of the listener. Because she was able to convey her feelings to her audience, millions of "little robots", who have never heard of head voice or chest voice before, saw in their mind's eye her artistry. That is why Susan Boyle is such a singing sensation. Her audition at BGT was the spark, but her artistry was the fuel that kept the flame burning bright and long.
wonderful voice September 5, 2010 Janet Hunt (Arizona) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I really enjoy Susan's voice. It is lovely. However, I was a little disapointed in the contents. There appeared to be a lot of different types of songs, including ones that you usually only hear during holidays. I assume they are perhaps her favorites, and ones that she is used to singing. I would have put those together on a different album with similar music.
Susan Boyle September 5, 2010 Muffy7 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was disappointed with this CD. Maybe it was the selection of music
I enjoyed her much more when she was on TV.
excellent September 3, 2010 C. Silvia 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is true beauty to my ears. especially the songs from an angel's voice, Susan Boyle's. Just yesterday, a I have received a gift of this disc of Susan Boyle. It is impressive satisfaction that it caused to me the fact that I did not buy it practically by a single song but due to be Susan Boyle, and what a pleasing surprise rather causes me when I did listen to each and every one of the twelve songs.
